Everyone Has a Story

A 24 year old boy seeing out from the train’s window shouted…

“Dad, look the trees are going behind!”

Dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year old’s childish behavior with pity, suddenly he again exclaimed…

“Dad, look the clouds are running with us!”

The couple couldn’t resist and said to the old man…

“Why don’t you take your son to a good doctor?”The old man smiled and said…“I did and we are just coming from the hospital, my son was blind from birth, he just got his eyes today.

Every single person on the planet has a story. Don’t judge people before you truly know them. The truth might surprise you.

Even each and every single day when you come to office or school, never ask in hastily and angrily why they're coming late, you don't know what they've gone through before reaching the office or school.

Modern Desiderata for Social Media

Before you post anything in social media, have you asked yourself what good can come out of it?

Will it inform?
  Inspire?
    Educate?
      Entertain?

There are many valid reasons for posting something, but self-praise is not one of them.

Always consider the truthfulness of what you're going to share. Be discerning, especially when people begin to trust in your discernment. Hold on to facts, to evidence, to logic, and to reason. But don't forget that sincerity is the most important form of truthfulness, for it involves being true to one's convictions, values, and feelings.

Choose your words wisely. Some words can hurt, but others can heal. Some can divide, but others can unite.

Some people will try to refute what you're going to say. The natural impulse is to be defensive, but the noble response is one that is humble and gracious.

Some people will disagree with your points of view. Welcome their dissent, always remind yourself that you can be wrong, so that when others correct you, your response will be gratitude.

Even when you're convinced that you are absolutely right, resist the temptation of humiliating people and rubbing in the flaws of their contentions.

Don't let your desire to be proven right get in the way of being nice to people.

Don't let your desire to be vindicated lead you to vindictiveness.

Never fight hate with hate, just as it has been said that one must never fight fire with fire. Avoid posting something out of anger or frustration. If someone insults you, you are no different if you insult them back.

Draw inspiration from the people who like or share your posts but never make them the sole measure of your success. A popular lie will go viral, but an inconvenient truth may go unnoticed.

Don't give up on social media. When you dwell too much on the negative, you lose sight of the positive. Not all the hatred in the Internet can nullify the fact that life is beautiful and we can see glimmers of this beauty in people's posts that make us laugh and smile.

As for what you write, even just one person who profits from it makes it worthwhile - and you never know what your drop in the bucket will help lead to.

Keep writing. And keep encouraging those who do. You are not alone.

A rich man took his son for a trip to see what it was like to be poor

This is a story about a wealthy man and his son and the journey they took which opened their eyes to a whole new meaning of being rich and the most important things in life.
One day, just like any other day, a wealthy man took his son on a trip to the country. He wanted to show his son how poor people live and what it actually means to be poor. They found a family with a farm, a very poor family and spend a few nights with them. When they returned home the father asked his how he liked the journey.
“It was great, Dad,” the son replied. “Did you see how poor people can be?” the father asked. “Oh Yeah,” said the son.
“So what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father. The son answered:

“I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.” The boy’s father was speechless. Then his son added, “It showed me how poor we are.”
This story serves to remind us about the true value of things in life. It serves to remind us on how too many times we focus on the material side of things, failing to see what truly matters in life. And we can’t understand that it’s all about how we see things in life, it all depends on our perspective. What is one person’s worthless object is another’s prize possession. It all depends on our perspective.
We should be thankful for the things we have and not be jealous for the things other have. The better we understand this the better persons we become. And that’s the most important thing in life!

How to get your ideal heart rate when doing exercises

Some of us is taking very hard at ourselves during exercises. We exert to much and push ourselves further..beyond limit.

Keep in mind that there is an ideal intensity zone depending as we aged.

Here is a simple guide:

The basic way to calculate your maximum heart rate is to subtract your age from 220. For example, if you're 30 years old, subtract 30 from 220 to get a maximum heart rate of 190. This is the maximum number of times your heart should beat per minute while you're exercising.

Once you know your maximum heart rate, you can calculate your desired target heart rate zone — the level at which your heart is being exercised and conditioned but not overworked.

Here's how heart rate matches up with exercise intensity levels:

Moderate exercise intensity: 50 to 70 percent of your maximum heart rate
Vigorous exercise intensity: 70 to 85 percent of your maximum heart rate

If you're not fit or you're just beginning an exercise program, aim for the lower end of your target zone (50 percent). Then, gradually build up the intensity. If you're healthy and want a vigorous intensity, opt for the higher end of the zone.

Quick Tabular View

Age Target HR Zone 50-85% Average Maximum Heart Rate, 100%
20 years 100-170 beats per minute 200 beats per minute
30 years 95-162 beats per minute 190 beats per minute
35 years 93-157 beats per minute 185 beats per minute
40 years 90-153 beats per minute 180 beats per minute
45 years 88-149 beats per minute 175 beats per minute
50 years 85-145 beats per minute 170 beats per minute
55 years 83-140 beats per minute 165 beats per minute
60 years 80-136 beats per minute 160 beats per minute
65 years 78-132 beats per minute 155 beats per minute
70 years 75-128 beats per minute 150 beats per minute

The Young Thief and His Mother

The Young Thief and His Mother

The Young Thief and His Mother

A young Man had been caught in a daring act of theft and had been condemned to be executed for it. He expressed his desire to see his Mother, and to speak with her before he was led to execution, and of course this was granted. When his Mother came to him he said: "I want to whisper to you," and when she brought her ear near him, he nearly bit it off. All the bystanders were horrified, and asked him what he could mean by such brutal and inhuman conduct. "It is to punish her," he said. "When I was young I began with stealing little things, and brought them home to Mother. Instead of rebuking and punishing me, she laughed and said: "It will not be noticed." It is because of her that I am here to-day."

11 Fitness Myths Debunked

 11 Fitness Myths Debunked

Wonder why how hard we do exercising but still not achieving our target like losing weight, become slimmer and more..? Here are the 11 Fitness Myths We Should Stop Believing.

Myth: Crunches are a great way to flatten your stomach

Fact: A flat stomach actually comes from eating foods that are low in fat and refined sugars. No matter how many crunches you do, they will build only the muscle that lies deep beneath those unforgiving layers of fat.

Myth: The more you sweat during exercise, the more fat you lose

Fact: The harder you work out, the more calories you’ll burn within a given period. But how much you sweat has nothing to do with how much fat you lose.

Myth: Lifting weights will make me bulky

Fact: Weight training accounts for 70 percent of your calorie burn. Resistance forces your muscles to work 10 to 20 times more than regular cardio, without bulking. Bulk comes from high calorie intake, which is why professional bodybuilders consume a lot of calories while lifting a lot of weight. If you combine weight training with a moderate, balanced diet with medium to low calorie intake, you will burn fat and sculpt your body without adding bulk.

Myth: Muscle weighs more than fat

Fact: A pound of muscle and a pound of fat weigh the same, a pound. However, muscles are denser than fat and occupy less space. Adding muscle to your physique will create curves where once there were none.

Myth: I can turn my fat into muscles if I exercise with weights

Fact: Fat and muscle are completely different tissues, so you can’t transform one into the other. Although muscles can’t physically turn into fat, they can atrophy. When you exercise, your initial goal should be to burn fat and build muscle.

Myth: You can lose fat from specific parts of your body by exercising those spots

Fact: There are no shortcuts to fat loss. If you do full-body strength training and cardio workouts, the excess fat will eventually come off from the places where you want it gone.

Myth: If I’m not sore the next day, I didn’t work out hard enough

Fact: Soreness is not a reliable indicator of a good workout. It’s normal to experience some soreness after a workout, especially if you regularly change your routine. Soreness can also be a sign that you pushed your body too hard. I enjoy feeling sore, but that’s just me. The key is to make sure that you’re challenging your muscles to their fullest potential.

Myth: Cardio is only for folks who want to lose weight

Fact: Even Superman needs cardio to stay in tip-top shape. Your heart is your engine, and without a strong engine you’ll never get far.

Myth: Walking won’t help me lose weight

Fact: Walking will absolutely help you lose weight, assuming you walk at least 5 times weekly for a minimum of 30 minutes a day. Challenge yourself to walk faster and farther as your body gets used to the exercise.

Myth: The best time to work out is early in the morning

Fact: It doesn’t matter when you work out, as long as you do so at some point during the day.

Myth: Weight lifting is only for men

Fact: Weight lifting is a great way for both genders to burn calories. Women can benefit particularly from weight training because it increases bone density, which helps you avoid osteoporosis. Also, ladies, targeted weight lifting will help firm and tighten your backside.

What happens when you eat 3 whole eggs everyday

What happens when you eat 3 whole eggs everyday

What happens when you eat 3 whole eggs everyday

While the average large egg delivers between 180-186 mg of cholesterol, your liver produces anywhere between 1,000 mg to 2,000 mg each day on its own.

When you consume foods that contain cholesterol, your liver adjusts itself by decreasing its own production. This means that eating eggs doesn’t increase the existing amounts of cholesterol in your body, you’re simply replacing one type with another

1. Nutrients

When it comes to nutritional value, eggs really give you the best bang for your buck. Loaded with vitamin A, E, B6 and B12, thiamin, riboflavin folate, iron, phosphorous, magnesium, selenium and so much more, it’s hard to find other foods with such a varied nutrient profile.

2. Cholesterol

The greatest criticism against eggs is that they contain high levels of cholesterol. However, eggs contain high-density lipoproteins (HDL) which are actually vital for the body and brain.

HDL provides stability in every cell of your body and helps your body produce vitamin D and hormones like testosterone, estrogen and cortisol.

Unlike low-density lipoprotein (bad cholesterol), which clings to the walls of your blood vessels, HDL cholesterol scrubs the inner walls of these vessels and prevents atherosclerosis. It also lowers LDL levels and does not contribute to heart disease or stroke in otherwise healthy people, so you can eat as many as you want.

3. Choline

Eggs are a great source of choline, an essential nutrient that promotes brain development and memory function. It’s actually a precursor for neurotransmitter called acetylcholine (8). It’s so important for the brain that pregnant women are highly suggested to take choline supplements to avoid developmental abnormalities in the womb.

Currently, roughly 90% of American are deficient in choline, making them more prone to muscle damage and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

4. Keeps Your Eyes Sharp

Eggs contain lutein and zeaxanthin, carotenoid vitamins that are essential for your vision. Together, they reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration, which causes blindness in older age.
The cartenoids protect the eyes from sunlight damage, improve night vision and reduce risk of developing cataracts by up to 50%.

5. Feed Your Muscles

2 eggs supply as much protein as 1 serving of meat, without exposing you to as much fat and acidity as most meats. Although many diets suggest eating only the egg whites for a lean, strong, protein source but half of the total protein in the egg is found in the yolk.

6. Feeds Your Bones

Eggs contains both calcium and vitamin D, the building blocks your body needs to maintain bones, particularly for ensuring proper bone density. Vitamin D actually boosts your body’s ability to absorb calcium. Calcium is also necessary for blood clotting, nerves signals and muscles contractions.

7. Promotes Weight Loss

Because eggs are nutrient-dense, they are more filling than most foods. They’re also low in calories, making them much more diet-friendly than most protein-rich foods. The Journal of the American College of Nutrition and the International Journal of Obesity both conducted studies that concluded that eating eggs during breakfast can reduce the amount of food you eat later in the day.

The habit also resulted in greater weight loss, greater reduction in waist circumference and greater reduction in body fat than other breakfast foods.

Overall

What all of this means is that adding eggs to your diet isn’t unhealthy. In many cases, eggs will benefit your body more than you think. While you shouldn’t try to eat 10 eggs everyday, 2 to 3 eggs per day is perfectly fine in healthy individuals who are trying stay healthy.

The Dog and His Reflection

A dog, to whom the butcher had thrown a bone, was hurrying home with his prize as fast as he could go. As he crossed a narrow footbridge, he happened to look down and saw himself reflected in the quiet water as if in a mirror. But the greedy dog thought he saw a real dog carrying a bone much bigger than his own.

If he had stopped to think he would have known better. But instead of thinking, he dropped his bone and sprang at the dog in the river, only to find himself swimming for dear life to reach the shore. At last he managed to scramble out, and as he stood sadly thinking about the good bone he had lost, he realized what a stupid dog he had been.

The Two Pots

It was a cyclonic season. There was flood everywhere.

Many houses drowned in the flood. There was a copper pot and an earthen pot in a house. Both these were washed away in the flood to a river.

The copper pot called the earthen pot and said, "My friend, you are made of mud. You are so weak. Please, come near me. I'll save you".

The earthen pot replied, "Thank you for your kindness, my friend. But, let me swim to the bank by myself'.

The earthen pot began to swim towards the bank of the river.

As the copper pot tried to swim, water got filled into the pot and the copper pot drowned. But earthen pot reached the bank.

The Sun and the rain fought each other since both of them wanted to be in the sky at the same time.

Neither of them would give in, so that while it rained heavily, the sun also shone intensely. Because of this, a beautiful rainbow arched across the sky, caused by the sunshine and the prism-like crystal raindrops.

Differences sometimes produce rainbows!

10 Ways to stop yourself from overthinking

10 Ways to stop yourself from overthinking

When one overthinks, judgments may get cloudy and stress level gets elevated. One must need empty hir mind from time to time. Take brains to some relaxing state.

1. Awareness is the beginning of change.

Before you can begin to address or cope with your habit of overthinking, you need to learn to be aware of it when it's happening. Any time you find yourself doubting or feeling stressed or anxious, step back and look at the situation and how you're responding. In that moment of awareness is the seed of the change you want to make.

2. Don't think of what can go wrong, but what can go right.

In many cases, overthinking is caused by a single emotion: fear. When you focus on all the negative things that might happen, it's easy to become paralyzed. Next time you sense that you starting to spiral in that direction, stop. Visualize all the things that can go right and keep those thoughts present and up front.

3. Distract yourself into happiness.

Sometimes it's helpful to have a way to distract yourself with happy, positive, healthy alternatives. Things like mediation, dancing, exercise, learning an instrument, knitting, drawing, and painting can distance you from the issues enough to shut down the overanalysis.

4. Put things into perspective.

It's always easy to make things bigger and more negative than they need to be. The next time you catch yourself making a mountain out of a molehill, ask yourself how much it will matter in five years. Or, for that matter, next month. Just this simple question, changing up the time frame, can help shut down overthinking.

5. Stop waiting for perfection.

This is a big one. For all of us who are waiting for perfection, we can stop waiting right now. Being ambitious is great but aiming for perfection is unrealistic, impractical, and debilitating. The moment you start thinking "This needs to be perfect" is the moment you need to remind yourself, "Waiting for perfect is never as smart as making progress."

6. Change your view of fear.

Whether you're afraid because you've failed in the past, or you're fearful of trying or overgeneralizing some other failure, remember that just because things did not work out before does not mean that has to be the outcome every time. Remember, every opportunity is a new beginning, a place to start again.

7. Put a timer to work.

Give yourself a boundary. Set a timer for five minutes and give yourself that time to think, worry, and analyze. Once the timer goes off, spend 10 minutes with a pen and paper, writing down all the things that are worrying you, stressing you, or giving you anxiety. Let it rip. When the 10 minutes is up, throw the paper out and move on--preferably to something fun.

8. Realize you can't predict the future.

No one can predict the future; all we have is now. If you spend the present moment worrying about the future, you are robbing yourself of your time now. Spending time on the future is simply not productive. Spend that time instead on things that give you joy.

9. Accept your best.

The fear that grounds overthinking is often based in feeling that you aren't good enough--not smart enough or hardworking enough or dedicated enough. Once you've given an effort your best, accept it as such and know that, while success may depend in part on some things you can't control, you've done what you could do.

10. Be grateful.

You can't have a regretful thought and a grateful thought at the same time, so why not spend the time positively? Every morning and every evening, make a list of what you are grateful for. Get a gratitude buddy and exchange lists so you have a witness to the good things that are around you.

The Bridge and the Axe

  angel with axe

One day, a hunter was caught in a storm at the middle of the forest. When the rain subsided, he decided to return to his house. However, to his dismay, he found out that the bridge leading to his house had been destroyed by the storm. With no one to turn to but God, the hunter prayed, "Lord, please give me a bridge."

Just after a minute, an angel holding an axe flow towards him and gave him the axe.

"Angel," the hunter protested, "there must be a mistake. I prayed for a bridge, not an axe."

"God can easily give you a bridge if He wants to," the angel answered. "But then God does not desire to spoil you. He is giving you this axe so you can cut wood and build a bridge."

With that, the angel left.

A Time for Everything - Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

A Time for Everything

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Desiderata

When we were in high school, we are ask to memorize this poem. I could still remember every lines of it, trying to memorize under the mango tree at school. This become one of my favorite poem.. Simple yet describes all facet of life.

Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

My wish is to become a smart phone

After dinner the teacher started checking homework done by the students. Her husband is strolling around with a smart phone playing his favourite game Candy Crush!

When she was reading some of the notes, the wife started to cry in silence.

Her husband noticed it and asked, ‘Why are you crying? What happened?’

Wife: Yesterday I gave homework to my 4th grade students to write something on topic about "My Wish".

Husband: Okay, but why are you crying?

Wife: Today when I checked the notes, I can't help myself by cry.

Husband curiously: What’s written in the note that makes you cry?

Wife: Somebody write 'My wish is to become a smart phone.'

"My parents love smart phones that they forget about me being around. When my father comes from office, he is tired but he has time for he's phone but not for me.
When my parents are doing some important work and the phone is ringing, they attended it right away but not me...even if I am crying out loud like a ringtone.

So, My wish is to become a smart phone."

After listening, the husband got emotional and said. "poor kid, who in your class is saying that?"

[Silence..]

Wife: Our son.

22 Brilliant Advices from Jack Ma

On developing ideas

[1] If 90% of those present at a business meeting vote in favour of one or other suggestion, I’ll always throw it out. The reason for this is simple: If everyone present can see the opportunity here, then the chances are lots of different companies are already working on the same idea, and we won’t be able to lead the way in it.

On what not to do

[2] In 2001, I made a mistake. I told my employees who had founded the company with me that the limit of their career growth was the managerial level. I thought that I needed to have professionals on my side. Year later, and none of those professionals work for us, whereas those whom I doubted had the potential to go far are now my vice-presidents.

[3] The worst qualities an entrepreneur can have are: snobbishness, an inability to understand the situation properly, adopt a high tempo of work without having the ability to sustain it in the long-term, and not possessing the ability to see what’s going to happen next.

[4] One principle guides me: your attitude towards work and the decisions which you take are more important than your abilities.

On complaints

[5] Nothing terrible will happen if you occasionally allow yourself to complain.

[6] Falling into depression and constantly complaining about the state of your life is no less destructive than alcoholism. It’s the same dangerous situation: the more you do it, the worse it gets. Successful people don’t have these kind of problems.

Advice for youth

[7] What does real failure mean? It means when you give fighting for what you want.

[8] What does adaptability mean? You’ll understand when you experience failure and disappointment.

[9] What are you obliged to do? You’re obliged to work as hard as you can and be more ambitious than others.

[10] Only fools talk out of their mouths. Intelligent people speak to themselves only in their head; wise people only in their hearts.

On living life to the full

[11] Sooner or later, you’ll regret it if you spend all of your time at work.

[12] I’m always reminding myself that none of us were born in order to work, but instead to enjoy life. We’re here to help make other people’s lives better, and not spend all our time working.

On competition and competitors

[13] Competition is like a game of chess. If you lose once, you’ll always have another chance to win. And you don’t have to fight about it when you lose the current round.

[14] If your competitor is weaker than you, you should still seem him as an equal. This works the other way, of course: even if you’re opponent is stronger than you, don’t be afraid of him.

[15] A real entrepreneur has no enemies. When you understand this, no one can stop you.

Advice to entrepreneurs

[16] Clients are number one. Employees are number two. Shareholders come after both of these categories in importance.

[17] Instead of looking for quick solutions and ready-made schemes, concentrate on establishing stability and promising long-term plans.

[18] Today might be tough, tomorrow might be worse. But the day after will be wonderful.

On setting up your own business

[19] When you start your own business, this means you’re giving up a stable income, as well as annual bonuses.

[20] On the other hand, your income will be unrestricted, you’ll make use of your time much more effectively, and you won’t have to ask anyone else for permission to do something.

[21] When searching for a partner, you should always look for someone who adds to your abilities and knowledge. You don’t need someone who’s already been successful at anything in particular.

[22] Do your best to make sure your employees come to work every day with smiles on their faces.

Steve Jobs Last Words

Have came across to this article, it say’s “Steve Jobs'” but can’t verify if it’s really him saying this. Nevertheless, the article is worth noting for..

 Steve Jobs’ Last Words:

I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world.

In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success.

However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.

At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.

In the darkness, I look at the green lights from the life supporting machines and hear the humming mechanical sounds, I can feel the breath of god of death drawing closer…
Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth…

Should be something that is more important:

Perhaps relationships, perhaps art, perhaps a dream from younger days …

Non-stop pursuing of wealth will only turn a person into a twisted being, just like me.

God gave us the senses to let us feel the love in everyone’s heart, not the illusions brought about by wealth.

The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me.

What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love.

That’s the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on.

Love can travel a thousand miles. Life has no limit. Go where you want to go. Reach the height you want to reach. It is all in your heart and in your hands.

What is the most expensive bed in the world? – “Sick bed” …

You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.

Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost – “Life”.

When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading – “Book of Healthy Life”.

Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.

Treasure Love for your family, love for your spouse, love for your friends…

Treat yourself well. Cherish others.
